Yoshino Kuzu Yokan
Japanese notation "吉野 葛ようかん"
”Yoshino Kuzu Yokan” is a bite-sized yokan made from Yoshino kuzu, a specialty of Yoshino Mountain, and is produced by Funagataya, a Japanese confectionery in Yoshino, Nara Prefecture, which has been operating since the early Meiji period(1868 to 1912. ).
The size is a bit thicker than the commonly seen bite-sized yokan.
When removed from the packaging, the edges of the yokan are more transparent than typical bite-sized yokan.
You can see more transparency when you cut it in half. The outside is transparent. You can also see the tsubuan azuki beans. Since kuzu is used, the texture is very soft and pull-y, which is completely different from the thick yokan.
The taste is also very palatable and is somewhere between kuzu manju and yokan. It is very light and refreshing. It will be delicious even if you eat it cold. I felt the power of first-class kuzu and recommend it.
