Richland
Japanese notation "リッチランド"
Rokkatei’s “Richland” is a sublet with a rich cheese flavor. The “poem” on the package is an excerpt from a piece that appeared in the children’s poetry magazine “Silo“.
The children’s poetry magazine “Silo” has been published monthly since 1960 by the “Silo no Kai” of the Toyoshiro Oda Memorial Fund, with the aim of nurturing the poetic spirit of children living in Tokachi. We were impressed by Rokkatei’s attitude of delivering poems on a package of sweets.
The sablet is shaped like a silo, which is often seen in the Tokachi region, where dairy farming is thriving, and this also shows the sense of culture that Tokachi has to offer.
The texture is like a thin sable baked hard, but above all, the aroma of mellow cheese is amazing. The combination of the sable and cheese creates a very nice sweetness.
The cheese sablé “Rich Land” is a simple yet rich cheese sablé that conveys the richness of the ingredients. I heard that within Rokkatei, there is a saying left by the founder Toyoshiro Oda, “Sweets are the barometer of culture”. This is truly a wonderful idea, an effort to nurture culture.
