Obakona
Japanese notation "おばこナ"
These baked sweets are named after the Akita folk songs “Akita obako” and “hideko bushi”. There are two kinds, “Obakona” and “Hidekona” but this time we introduce only “Obakona. By the way, “Akita obako” means “Akita’s daughter” in Akita dialect.
When you open the cute package, you will see a figure wrapped in foil inside. It looks like cake-like dough wrapped in foil and baked.
It has the feel of a crispy baked good rather than moist.
The Obakona is said to be filled with brown sugar bean paste, and it contains a hollowness of red bean paste.
It is the type of cake that is light and easy to crack open. The brown sugar filling is not too sweet and the amount is well balanced, so it seems to go well with coffee.
