Choco-Sand Senbei
Japanese notation "チョコサンドせんべい"
“Hachinohe-ya” in Mutsu City, Aomori Prefecture, is a rice cracker shop that produces a variety of Nanbu rice crackers. Hachinohe-ya’s “Choco-Sand Senbei” is an ambitious and innovative concept: a Nanbu Senbei sandwiched with chocolate poured into it.
The package design is passion pink and chocolate-colored, a pop design that is not unlike a Nanbu Senbei.
The appearance is that of a standard Nanbu sembei, with crispy corners and the crispy texture characteristic of Nanbu sembei. It is richly kneaded with sesame, and from its appearance, it is hard to imagine that it contains chocolate.
The backside of the sandwiched rice cracker is the same as the one used on the surface, the so-called standard Nanbu Senbei.
The chocolate inside is quite firm. The rice cracker and chocolate are tightly combined with each other.
It is a little surprising how well they go together. At first I thought it was a cracker that executed a slightly eccentric experiment, but the rustic flavor of the cracker and the chocolate flavor go well together. I thought this was a combination that would be good as a standard.
