Habutae-mochi Kotonohashi
Japanese notation "羽二重餅 琴の橋"
“Fukagawa-ya” is a very long-established Japanese confectionery store in Kameyama City, Mie Prefecture, founded in the Kan’ei Era (1624-1645). The Kan’ei Era is from 1624 to 1645, which is almost 400 years ago, making it a very long-established business.
There is a sticker on the upper right corner of the package with the word “coffee”. It appears to be a coffee-flavored Habutae mochi !?
Powdered sugar is sprinkled all around the rice cake, bringing together the outer contours of the soft, almost crumbly hanejyu mochi.
The inside is a brown hanyu rice cake. It seems to be kneaded with coffee mixed in, but it is moist with a sparkling texture.
The texture is very satisfying, as if you are eating a rice cake. The coffee flavor is authentic, not too sweet, and elegant. It was a unique product from a very long-established company.
